Role of different imaging modalities and FNAC correlation in diagnosing thyroid gland pathologies

Background: Thyroid nodule, goiter, thyroiditis, and thyroid cancer are all common conditions that may have a negative impact on normal function. Objective: Determine how FNAC correlation various imaging modalities contribute to the diagnosis of gland diseases. Patients Methods: Al-Hussein University Hospital's outpatient departments (OPD) for problems saw 100 participants research. All patients were screened with ultrasound, based results exam, some sent further radiological testing. Results: Out included in study, US was able classify diseases as focal (69 cases) diffuse (30 others (11 cases). 48 nodules underwent distributed Bethesda score 3 (6.2%) category I, 30 (62.5%) II, 5 (10.4%) III, 1 (2%) IV, V 6 (12.5%) VI; sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive values, accuracy, likelihood ratios US, pathology determined. about 22 (22 %) CT scan mainly evaluate retrosternal extension pre-operative staging; (22%) radionuclide scan. Conclusion: function (euthyroid) should first an ultrasonography. In same way, ultrasonography is line goiter's size extent. without contrast appropriate if there any worry effect trachea or it necessary determine deep goiter sits.
